Group Banque Richelieu is accelerating its development strategy by launching its corporate finance activity. Following the announcement of its majority stake acquisition in Hugau Gestion in February, the creation of this new entity is part of the Group’s strategic roadmap and further strengthens its offering dedicated to business leaders.

Richelieu Corporate Finance supports executives of family-owned SMEs and mid-sized companies seeking to drive a new phase of growth, as well as start-up founders reaching a key stage in their development. The firm provides advisory services for financing transactions (equity financing, private debt) and M&A operations (sales and acquisitions).

The firm operates across all business sectors, with particular expertise in industries such as aerospace, marine, packaging, food and agriculture, information technology (SaaS software and artificial intelligence), agriculture and wine production, as well as financial services (asset management and fintech).

This new activity will be led by Philippe Giraud, who has been appointed Chairman and Partner of Richelieu Corporate Finance. Philippe has spent more than 30 years in the financial industry, gaining experience across both investment and financing sectors. His entrepreneurial mindset has led him to launch and develop several business ventures.

A graduate of Sciences Po Bordeaux and holder of a Specialized Master’s degree in Finance from ESC Tours, Philippe began his career at Neuflize OBC (1990–1996) as Head of UCITS Operations. He then became Head of Business Development for the South-West region at Federal Finance (1996–2001), before joining Neuflize Gestion as Sales Director (2001–2004). In 2004, he launched his first entrepreneurial venture in real estate investment. He subsequently joined KBL France as Head of Institutional Clients (2007–2013), before becoming Development Director at GTI Group (2013–2018). At GTI, he specialized in asset-backed financing and securitization. In 2018, he founded Terranoveo, an advisory firm dedicated to financing small and medium-sized companies, which became NM Prime in 2023, combining multi-family office services and investment banking activities.

Philippe Giraud, Chairman and Partner of Richelieu Corporate Finance, said: :  “I am delighted to join Richelieu Banking Group, whose brand enjoys a particularly strong reputation. The entrepreneurial ecosystem is full of outstanding companies, and I continue to be impressed by the strength and ingenuity of our industries. The Group’s ambition and entrepreneurial spirit are perfectly reflected in the creation of Richelieu Corporate Finance: we aim to support the growth and development of our businesses.”

Sylvain Fondeur, Chief Executive Officer of Group Banque Richelieu, added: “The launch of Richelieu Corporate Finance contributes to the strong growth and momentum of Group Banque Richelieu. The investment banking division and the Group’s other entities have complementary activities and are developing shared synergies. Philippe’s unique career path—first in investment, then in the business world—together with his entrepreneurial mindset and the extensive ecosystem he has built over nearly 35 years, are significant assets that will contribute to the success of our new activity serving business leaders.”

The offices of Richelieu Corporate Finance are located at the headquarters of Group Banque Richelieu, 1-3-5 rue Paul Cézanne, Paris 8th arrondissement.
